OpenPlan 2.0 project consortium

The functions for applying the OpenPlan tool in the context of municipal heat planning are being developed in the OpenPlan 2.0 research project. The project consortium consists of the Reiner Lemoine Institut (RLI), the German Solar Energy Society (DGS), and the Fraunhofer IFAM(IFAM). It will be funded from September 2024 to August 2027 as part of the 'Technology-oriented System Analysis' funding area of the 7th Energy Research Program of the BMWK.

Simulation server

Our simulations run on a server hosted at RLI, the code to setup the simulation server is licenced under MIT License and publicly available on our github page. The simulation are perfomed with multi-vector-simulator, a code using oemof-solph to simulate energy system model from techno-economic parameters.
